Uzziah King of Judah
1. Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah.

4. And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah did.

5. And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.
5. "Il s`appliqua à rechercher Dieu pendant la vie de Zacharie, qui avait l`intelligence des visions de Dieu; et dans le temps où il rechercha l`Éternel, Dieu le fit prospérer."
5. "Ary nitady an' Andriamanitra izy tamin' ny andron' i Zakaria, izay nahafantatra ny fahitana an' Andriamanitra; ary tamin' ny andro nitadiavany an' i Jehovah, dia nambinin' Andriamanitra izy."
6. And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines.
6. "Il se mit en guerre contre les Philistins; et il abattit les murs de Gath, les murs de Jabné, et les murs d`Asdod, et construisit des villes dans le territoire d`Asdod, et parmi les Philistins."

7. And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gurbaal, and the Mehunims.
7. Dieu l`aida contre les Philistins, contre les Arabes qui habitaient à Gur Baal, et contre les Maonites.
7. Ary Andriamanitra nanampy azy hamely ny Filistina sy ny Arabo izay nonina tao Gora-bala ary ny Meonita,
8. And the Ammonites gave gifts to Uzziah: and his name spread abroad even to the entering in of Egypt; for he strengthened himself exceedingly.
8. Les Ammonites faisaient des présents à Ozias, et sa renommée s`étendit jusqu`aux frontières de l`Égypte, car il devint très puissant.

9. Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, and at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them.
9. Ozias bâtit des tours à Jérusalem sur la porte de l`angle, sur la porte de la vallée, et sur l`angle, et il les fortifia.
9. Ary Ozia nanao tilikambo tany Jerosalema, teo amin' ny vavahady an-jorony sy teo amin' ny vavahady mankao amin' ny tany lemaka sy teo an-jorony ka nanamafy azy.
10. Also he built towers in the desert, and digged many wells: for he had much cattle, both in the low country, and in the plains: husbandmen also, and vine dressers in the mountains, and in Carmel: for he loved husbandry.
10. Il bâtit des tours dans le désert, et il creusa beaucoup de citernes, parce qu`il avait de nombreux troupeaux dans les vallées et dans la plaine, et des laboureurs et des vignerons dans les montagnes et au Carmel, car il aimait l`agriculture.
10. "Ary nanao tilikambo tany an' efitra koa izy sady nihady lavaka maro ho famorian-drano; fa izy nanana omby aman' ondry betsaka teny an-tany lemaka sy teny an-tanety ary mpiasa koa sy mpamboatra tanimboaloboka teny an-tendrombohitra sy tany Karmela koa; fa tia asa tany izy."
11. Moreover Uzziah had an host of fighting men, that went out to war by bands, according to the number of their account by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the ruler, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king's captains.
11. Ozias avait une armée de soldats qui allaient à la guerre par bandes, comptées d`après le dénombrement qu`en firent le secrétaire Jeïel et le commissaire Maaséja, et placées sous les ordres de Hanania, l`un des chefs du roi.
11. Ary koa, Ozia nanana miaramila maro izay nanao antokony handeha hanafika, dia araka ny isany izay nandaminan' i Jeiela mpanoratra sy Mahaseia mpifehy azy, nofehezin' i Hanania, anankiray tamin' ny komandy voatendrin' ny mpanjaka.
12. The whole number of the chief of the fathers of the mighty men of valour were two thousand and six hundred.
12. Le nombre total des chefs de maisons paternelles, des vaillants guerriers, était de deux mille six cents.

13. And under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.
13. Ils commandaient à une armée de trois cent sept mille cinq cents soldats capables de soutenir le roi contre l`ennemi.
13. Ary ny miaramila fehezin' ireo dia dimanjato amby fito arivo sy telo hetsy, izay nahery niady indrindra, homba ny mpanjaka hiady amin' ny fahavalony.
14. And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields, and spears, and helmets, and habergeons, and bows, and slings to cast stones.
14. Ozias leur procura pour toute l`armée des bouclier, des lances, des casques, des cuirasses, des arcs et des frondes.
14. Ary Ozia namboatra ampinga sy lefona sy fiarovan-doha sy akanjo fiarovan-tratra sy tsipìka ary vaton' antsamotady ho an' ireo miaramila rehetra ireo.
15. And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.
15. Il fit faire à Jérusalem des machines inventées par un ingénieur, et destinées à être placées sur les tours et sur les angles, pour lancer des flèches et de grosses pierres. Sa renommée s`étendit au loin, car il fut merveilleusement soutenu jusqu`à ce qu`il devînt puissant.
15. "Ary nanao fitaovam-piadiana lehibe tany Jerosalema izy, natao araka ny marika vitan' ny mahay zavatra, hapetraka eo an-tampon' ny manda mba handefasana zana-tsipìka sy vato lehibe. Ary niely lavitra ny lazan' i Ozia; fa mahagaga ny nanampiana azy, ka tonga mahery tokoa izy."
16. But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.
16. Mais lorsqu`il fut puissant, son coeur s`éleva pour le perdre. Il pécha contre l`Éternel, son Dieu: il entra dans le temple de l`Éternel pour brûler des parfums sur l`autel des parfums.
16. "Nefa nony nahery izy, dia niavonavona ny fony ho amin' ny fandringanana azy; fa nivadika tamin' i Jehovah Andriamaniny izy, ka niditra tao amin' ny tempolin' i Jehovah handoro ditin-kazo manitra teo amin' ny alitara fandoroana ditin-kazo manitra."
17. And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that were valiant men:
17. Le sacrificateur Azaria entra après lui, avec quatre-vingts sacrificateurs de l`Éternel,

18. And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the LORD God.
18. hommes courageux, qui s`opposèrent au roi Ozias et lui dirent: Tu n`as pas le droit, Ozias, d`offrir des parfums à l`Éternel! Ce droit appartient aux sacrificateurs, fils d`Aaron, qui ont été consacrés pour les offrir. Sors du sanctuaire, car tu commets un péché! Et cela ne tournera pas à ton honneur devant l`Éternel Dieu.
18. "Ary nanohitra an' i Ozia mpanjaka ireo ka nanao taminy hoe: Tsy raharahanao, ry Ozia, ny handoro ditin-kazo manitra ho an' i Jehovah, fa an' ny mpisorona taranak' i Arona, izay nohamasinina handoro ditin-kazo manitra. Mialà amin' ny fitoerana masina, fa nanao izay mahadiso ianao; ary tsy ho voninahitra ho anao avy amin' i Jehovah Andriamanitra izany."
19. Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar.
19. La colère s`empara d`Ozias, qui tenait un encensoir à la main. Et comme il s`irritait contre les sacrificateurs, la lèpre éclata sur son front, en présence des sacrificateurs, dans la maison de l`Éternel, près de l`autel des parfums.
19. "Dia nisafoaka Ozia, ary nisy lovia teny an-tanany handoroany ditin-kazo manitra; koa raha mbola nisafoaka tamin' ny mpisorona izy, dia nisy habokana nipoitra tamin' ny handriny teo anatrehan' ny mpisorona tao an-tranon' i Jehovah, tanilan' ny alitara fandoroana ditin-kazo manitra."
20. And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.
20. Le souverain sacrificateur Azaria et tous les sacrificateurs portèrent les regards sur lui, et voici, il avait la lèpre au front. Ils le mirent précipitamment dehors, et lui-même se hâta de sortir, parce que l`Éternel l`avait frappé.
20. "Ary Azaria mpisoronabe sy ny mpisorona rehetra dia nanatrika nijery azy, ka, indro, boka ny handriny; dia noroahiny hiala teo izy; nefa ny tenany dia mba nivoaka faingana ihany koa, satria Jehovah efa namely azy."
21. And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.
21. Le roi Ozias fut lépreux jusqu`au jour de sa mort, et il demeura dans une maison écartée comme lépreux, car il fut exclu de la maison de l`Éternel. Et Jotham, son fils, était à la tête de la maison du roi et jugeait le peuple du pays.
21. Ary Ozia mpanjaka dia boka ambara-pahafatiny ka nitoetra tao an-trano mitokana noho ny habokana, satria tsy nahazo niditra tao an-tranon' i Jehovah intsony izy. Ka dia Jotama zanany no nanapaka tao an-dapa sady nitsara ny vahoakan' ny tany.
22. Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, write.
22. Le reste des actions d`Ozias, les premières et les dernières, a été écrit par Ésaïe, fils d`Amots, le prophète.
22. "Ary ny asan' i Ozia sisa na ny voalohany na ny farany, dia efa nosoratan' Isaia mpaminany, zanak' i Amoza;"
23. So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
23. Ozias se coucha avec ses pères, et on l`enterra avec ses pères dans le champ de la sépulture des rois, car on disait: Il est lépreux. Et Jotham, son fils, régna à sa place.
